Where is my data stored?

On your device, in Mantle's private storage area. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Read more in our privacy policy.

What happens if I delete the app?

Everything you've recorded is deleted along with it. Mantle has no cloud backup, so be sure before you uninstall.

Can I export my entries?

Export to a portable, self-contained format is on the roadmap and is one of Mantle's core ideas — the eventual archive your child receives. For the beta, voice and video files live in Mantle's private storage and aren't directly accessible. We're building this thoughtfully.

How do I add another child?

Settings → Children → “+ Add another child.” You can have as many children as you need. Some chapters (your own life story) are shared across all of them; others (like Watching You Grow) are recorded per child.

How do I switch which child I'm recording for?

On the Home tab, tap the FOR [name] ▾ pill near the top. Pick the child you want to record for, and the app re-themes around them.

My recording isn't playing back.

Force-quit and reopen the app. If the file is missing, the entry will show “Media unavailable” — you can delete the orphaned record from the same screen and re-record.

I gave the app camera/microphone access by mistake — or I want to revoke it.

Open the iPhone Settings app → scroll to Mantle → toggle individual permissions. The app will request them again on the next capture attempt.
